Film is not just a trend. It's a Feeling.


Your wedding day will go by in a blur of happy tears, hugs, champagne, dancing, and all the little moments you didn’t even realize were happening.


Your photographer will capture thousands of images. Your phone will capture hundreds more. But there’s something uniquely special about having photographs that exist in your hands almost immediately.


Instant photography brings a different kind of energy to a wedding. It’s physical, imperfect, spontaneous, and wonderfully nostalgic. Here are a few reasons why you should consider adding instant photography to your wedding day.


1. Tangible memories.

The nature of instant photography is just that, it’s instant. The film is physical and develops after a few minutes. Resulting in an album of tangible photos from your wedding to look through and touch. There’s no waiting for a gallery, no scrolling through a camera roll, and no wondering what the photograph will look like. You can hold it. You can pass it around. You can tuck it into a pocket, write a note on the back, or place it somewhere special. Over the course of your wedding day, those little photographs become a collection of tangible memories — a physical record of the people, places, and moments that made the day yours. And at the end of the night, you have something you can actually hold in your hands.


2. Less, but more meaningful.

There’s something different about taking a photograph when you know you only have a limited number of frames. With film, every shot matters. A Polaroid pack gives you 8 photographs. Instax gives you 10. That’s it. There’s no endless clicking. No taking 30 versions of the same moment just to find the perfect one later. Instead, every frame becomes a small decision. You slow down. You look. You notice. You wait for the right expression, the right embrace, the right bit of light. And sometimes the photograph you get isn’t the one you expected, it’s better. That intentionality gives instant photographs a sense of meaning that can be difficult to replicate when you have unlimited digital images.


3. Beautiful unpredictability.

Film isn’t perfect. And that’s exactly why I love it. Sometimes there’s a little light leak. Sometimes the colours shift. Sometimes there’s a soft blur or an unexpected exposure. Sometimes someone moves at exactly the wrong moment, or exactly the right one. These little imperfections are part of what makes film feel alive. Digital photography gives us incredible control. Instant film gives us a little less control, and that unpredictability can create photographs that feel completely unrepeatable. You can’t always recreate a film photograph. You can only have that photograph, from that moment, on that piece of film. And there’s something pretty magical about that.


4. Texture you can feel.

Film has depth. It isn’t a digital filter added after the fact. It isn’t an effect designed to imitate something vintage. It’s the actual photograph. It’s something alive, something tactile. You can see the grain. You can feel the paper. You can watch the image slowly develop in front of you. That texture gives instant photographs a softness and character that feels timeless. They can feel nostalgic without trying too hard, cinematic without being overly polished, and personal in a way that makes you want to keep looking at them. Your wedding photographs don’t just have to be something you look at on a screen. They can be something you hold.


5. Film isn't going away.

Film has had more than its fair share of opportunities to disappear. And yet, it never quite did. Iconic photographers, artists, designers, and fashion houses continue to work with film because there is something about the medium that digital photography hasn't been able to completely replace. Film has a look, a process, and a feeling all its own. It slows photography down. It introduces uncertainty. It creates limitations. And sometimes, those limitations are exactly what make the finished image so beautiful. Trends come and go, but people keep coming back to film. Because when something feels timeless, it doesn’t necessarily need replacing.


6. No AI here.

There is no AI involved in my photography process. I take the photograph. The camera exposes the film. The film develops the image. That’s it. Once the photographs are developed, I scan them myself using a physical scanner. I then crop each individual image and carefully remove dust and imperfections from the scans by hand. I do use modern technology where it makes sense — particularly for preserving, organizing, and sharing the photographs digitally — but I don’t use AI to generate, recreate, or alter the people or moments in the images. The people in your photographs are real. The moments are real. The film is real. And the photograph you receive is a physical image that actually existed in that moment, captured on a piece of film. For me, that’s a big part of the appeal of instant photography. Your wedding day only happens once. The people you love are there in that room, in that moment, exactly as they are. I want to capture those moments honestly and give you something real to remember them by.


A little piece of your wedding day, right away.

There’s something incredibly special about watching an instant photograph develop during a wedding. Someone laughs when they see it. Someone asks to hold it. The newlyweds tuck one into a pocket. And suddenly, a photograph isn’t just an image anymore. It becomes a little physical piece of the day. Years from now, you might find that photograph in a box, an album, or between the pages of a book. You’ll hold it again. And for a moment, you’re back there. That’s why I love instant photography.
